Heritage Act 2016 in The Netherlands
www.cbs.nl is the website of Statistics Netherlands (CBS) in Dutch and English. This website includes the central electronic database, called StatLine (http://statline.cbs.nl). At present, however, the English version of StatLine contains only a few matrices; it is to be expanded in the near future.
www.scp.nl is the website of the Netherlands Institute of Social Research (SCP) in Dutch and English. The SCP conducts an ongoing survey on cultural participation in the Netherlands. Museums visits are included in the survey. Most publications of the SCP are available online.
Culture at a Glance 2014 (Cultuur in Beeld 2014) is published annually by the Dutch Ministry of Education, Culture and Science. The publication provides an overview of figures on the culture sector and a guide to major trends. The 2014 edition focuses on changes in the public’s preferences and perceptions. These changes are the result of more general trends in society. Page 162-166 give some basic statistics about each of the 30 museums subsidised by the Dutch central government (visits, subsidies and other types of income).
